Working Dive Center..
The ideal real world environment to gain valuable experience that will set you apart from other students and IDC's based in a real world resort environment.

Rainbow Reef Dive Centers feature 4 custom Dive Boats.
During your IDC, your Open Water sessions are conducted out on the reefs or wrecks on one of 3 custom dive boats the Dive Center uses in Key Largo.

SURE... there are more than a few Instructor Development Centers around, but why not take your classes in a tropical location like the Florida Keys?

For most people, the Florida Keys offer a close to home, tropical and safe location to go through your Instructor Training, and is the ideal destination for IDC students to conduct their training.

Our Dive Centers are located in Key Largo, with the world famous John Pennekamp State Park and Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary just offshore where we take our boats each day. Our classroom is located in our main dive center at MM 100.8 just a few thousand feet from the Boats and Pools.

Onsite housing, multiple training pools, are all part of a real world busy Dive Center, Resort and Marina..

NEW Training Center Open:

We are proud to announce our all new classroom and CDC training center. For the most effective knowledge development and academic parts of the Instructor Development class (i.e. when you aren't diving or in a pool), we have set up a dedicated classroom just for IDC candidates that is spacious, comfortable, and quiet. This overall environment is most conducive for presentations, learning and studying.

Rainbow Reef Instructor Development Center is situated right along side of 2 living breathing resorts and dive centers. Accommodations, training pools, dive boats and the beautiful coral reefs are all right here for you to experience.

We have training pools on location at our Marina docking area. Heated for your comfort if you are one of those with thin skin! If not, leave your wetsuit at home!

Real World Training Environment:

Because our Instructor Development Center is part of two working Dive Centers and Resorts you get to take advantage of the experience that will be happening all around you. You'll have access to other Instructors, Dive Boats, Resort Staff, Dive Equipment, Air fill Systems, Nitrox. Nothing can prepare you better than participating in training at a Dive Center or Resort that will no doubt be similar to one that you might work at in the Future.

Why do your Open Water modules in some cold dark quarry? Our Coral Reefs, Walls and Wrecks are all well suited for making your training as realistic and enjoyable as possible.
